AE_LIVE is a live album by British electronica duo Autechre. Their first official live release, AE_LIVE is a selection of nine soundboard recordings, each roughly an hour long, made during their ongoing live tour which had its inception in the Warp25 25th anniversary celebration of the label Warp Records that occurred in Krakow, Poland on 20 September 2014, the duo's first live shows since 2011.[1] It was released abruptly to members of the Autechre mailing list, who were given invite-only permission to purchase the recordings.[2]
On 1 November 2015, a Bleep.com substore gave the public the ability to purchase and download the album.[3][4][5] On 8 December 2015, the AE_STORE_ page for the album was updated to include 5 more tracks.[6][7][8][9]
AE_LIVE is by far the duo's longest release, at launch lasting over 259 minutes, with the extra tracks added on 8 December 2015 pushing the length to nearly 560 minutes. The album is accompanied by abstract geometric track-by-track artwork from The Designers Republic. The tracks of the album are all of the same live set however each recording displays subtle differences and improvisation that renders each set unique, albeit based on the same selection of music.
