Ibrahim Abdelhady is an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture, College of Fine Arts, Alexandria University. He has taught various levels of undergraduate students’ courses in computer applications and architectural design. His research is an inquiry into the impact of digital information on the architecture and construction industry. After receiving his first PhD for generative form modeling using computer, he is now a candidate for a second Ph.D. studying the adaption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) by architectural firms in the USA.

By focusing on the digital interactions and exploring new architectural paradigms, Ibrahim won several national and international competitions such as Far Eastern International Digital Architectural Design Award (FEIDAD), Celebration of the Cites, and the Smart Village. He was also one of three architects represented Egypt in the 9th Biennale of Architecture, held in Venice, 2004.

Ibrahim currently is the founder and Chief-in-editor of Arch2O architectural network, a virtual dynamic environment where different architects from all over the world practice architecture, urbanism, and cultural analysis. His architecture insists on intelligent forms while inventing new possibilities for content and everyday use; it is a concept of futurism through a persistent investigation of the symbiotic potentials amid nature and technology.

Prior coming to the USA, he practiced in Egypt as a senior designer in many architectural firms, focusing on urban design and various scales of residential projects, he worked in collaboration with interior designers, artists, sculptors and design professors. His work includes several retail shops, residential remodeling and additions, interior design, representation and rendering. He has also contributed to several urban design projects and unique building design all over the world for several years.
