The United Kingdom held a national preselection to choose the song that would go to the Eurovision Song Contest 1966. It was held on 27 January 1966 and presented by David Jacobs. The decision on the singer, Kenneth McKellar, had already been made, without any open competition.

Kenneth McKellar was chosen by the BBC internally the juries decided on the song, A Man Without Love won and was performed it came 2nd place. Yet another 2nd place for the UK.
