Thanks for your contributions to this article. When I constructed the page, the book I used was from the 1950s and stated UK, so it's unsuprising things have changed. Could you point me to an online source so I can reference your comments. I'm a bit confused as the CA homepage states that it looks after England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Cheers FruitMonkey (talk) 10:03, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The position is slightly confusing, as most things to do with governing bodies in the UK are. I have put a subsequent update which tries to clarify what the situation actually is at present.

Hi. When you recently edited Cardiff City F.C. in Europe, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Borussia, Derry City and Moscow Dynamo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks for reverting my edits where I got the wrong Boat Race - I try my best, but here's the issue: "Head of the River" refers to several races around the world. Can you please change those links to more specific references? Thanks again, PKT(alk) 17:11, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It may be better to have a link to Eights Week since those are the actual races for which the colleges are Head of the River. Cnwilliams (talk) 17:24, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Note to Cnwilliams Could you please make sure your disambiguations (obviously your speciality) don't MISlead? When you "corrected" Dorchester in "List of former cathedrals in the United Kingdom" you put Dorchester in Dorset. The relevant Dorchester (see list of locations in LH column of the list) is Dorchester, Oxfordshire, otherwise Dorchester on Thames. I have gone through and corrected your "corrections". Greetings fellow disambiguator! Remember back in February when we made history by clearing the board for the first time ever, for the monthly disambiguation contest? Let's do it again in May! Also, I will be setting up a one-day contest later in the month, and will try to set up more prizes and other ways to make this a fun and productive month. Changing "bgcolor" to "style=background"

Hi Cnwilliams. In this edit to Ralf Schumacher, did you change the "bgcolor"s to "style=background" manually, or did a tool do it for you? If it was a tool, can you tell me where can I find it? (the URL linked in the edit summary indicates the tool is no longer at that location). Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 23:53, 27 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It was the dab_solver tool which made the changes automatically and it can be found at http://dispenser.homenet.org/~dispenser/cgi-bin/dab_solver.py, even though the link in the edit history still shows the old URL. The tool is very useful for showing any ambiguous links you have added following an edit. Cnwilliams (talk) 13:50, 28 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edit to Conor Cummins changed a link from Honda Racing, a disambiguation page, to Honda Racing Corporation which I felt was wrong; Cummins' own site states Honda Motor Europe [1] and the Honda site lists Honda Motor Europe as Honda Motor Europe Ltd [2]. Thanks for changing the content; I agree the disambig page was not appropriate, but I erroneously stated above "self-revert" when it should have read 'part-revert' - it just came out wrong. I had intended to message you before now, but hearing Cummins and McGuinness mentioned in the Oschersleben endurace race commentary on Eurosport prompted me (riding a Jackson Honda in Superstock class). rgds,--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 20:37, 22 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. On the article Boise metropolitan area you unlinked Carrington College. I'm wondering why you did this? If the reason was because it linked to a disambiguation page, the question becomes why not just change the link to the correct link of Carrington College (US) which is the correct link for this entry? Please ping upon reply Etamni | ✉   12:32, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Etamni: Thanks for the correction. I have been doing a lot of disambiguation over Christmas and must have felt when doing this one, that unlinking was a better solution than adding a don't know. The tool I use (Dab Solver) does make suggestions and sometimes there is no obvious link. If I had known that Carrington College (US) was the correct link then I would have used it. Cnwilliams (talk) 12:53, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dab challenge focus

As much fun as the bonus list is, I'd really like to focus on the main list this month. As of now, there are 1,224 pages with more than 5 incoming links. If we can bring that number down by 225 before the end of the month, then we will have bridged the gap between the main list and the bonus list, and every single disambiguation link in Wikipedia at the beginning of May will count for the contest. Cheers! bd2412 T 16:01, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Recent removal

Your recent removal of the Doctor of Chiropractic entry at 'Doctor' here seems to represent a POV? You removed DC "because it is only awarded in a few countries", yet left DPT and PharmD in the lede, which are only found in the US? I would say remove all non-international degrees, or leave them all, but to selectively remove 1 example seems like the reason is not consistent with the edit summary you left.2001:56A:75B7:9B00:D946:A423:7297:5E7C (talk) 15:32, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think you will find it was not me who removed it, but Arnoutf. I changed D.C. to Doctor of Chiropractic, because DC is ambiguous - it could mean District Of Columbia. Arnoutf then removed it. Cnwilliams (talk) 15:44, 5 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
