Spelling

The name is Vardy, not Varney. As far as I can tell, the only source using the Varney spelling is this FA article which would appear to be a typo. Every source used in the article, Fleetwood Town's website, and the Football Association's registrations list, spell it, correctly, Vardy. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 22:29, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have seen the match of leicester city vs manchester united and jamie vardy scored 1 goal and gave 2 assists, so the statistics needto be changed Iamdshah (talk) 15:13, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: as you have not cited reliable sources to back up your request, what you saw is not verifiable. - Arjayay (talk) 16:59, 21 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

In the "career statistics" section, the number of Premier League appearances for Jamie Vardy is 16 until now, not 17. Anyone can go to Premier League official website to check this. Thankyou:) 119.237.13.182 (talk) 08:08, 15 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove all reference to The Daily Mail Article with regards to personal family information with parents names (75). The Daily Mail have now removed this intrusive article and is now subject to legal consideration. Please contact Harbottle Lewis for further information.

 Done by another - Arjayay (talk) 11:55, 17 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A Rebecca by any other name...

It's clear that Vardy is engaged to a woman whose name would be pronounced "Ruh-beh-kuh Wilson" but her given name is spelt differently in different sources, many of which are red-top trash and name her in stories which I would never link to because of their outrageous claims and lack of credibility.

Does anyone have a reliable source on how the soon-to-be Mrs Vardy spells her name? '''tAD''' (talk) 22:32, 22 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is wrong. James Vardy started training professional at 15, he came to Leicester at the age of 16 and is now play football in Chelsea 188.120.90.162 (talk) 10:19, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not done - he does not play for Chelsea - Arjayay (talk) 10:28, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Part has been reverted for changing the template of the infobox to include the names of Vardy's parents and his date of marriage. I feel this fails WP:DISINFOBOX as this is trivial detail for Vardy who is most known for being a footballer rather than who his family members are.

There are people for whom their family members are an important part of understanding the person, like Elizabeth II, but even there the family details are put after the person's work in the infobox.

I would like for Part to explain their reasons for changing the format, and for other users to comment on whether such a change was appropriate. '''tAD''' (talk) 20:59, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Part: Your comment on Beckham, see Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. There is no requirement to copy the layout of any other page. In addition, Beckham has for 20+ years been a person of consistent celebrity in the world, and his spouse was notable before the two met. In any case, I would still remove that from Beckham's box; the parents have no independent notability and can be mentioned in "Early life", and the spouse and children summed up in a line in the lead. Infoboxes are for summing up information that can't be summed up in the lead, like a complete career record. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:05, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think another footballer is a better comparison, please see David Beckham - details such as the number of children he has, and his parents names for instance are all ahead of his football stats. This is not only about his spouse. How do you determine what is trivial? Are you implying Mr Vardy is not notable enough? Consistency across articles rather than copying is how I see it. Part (talk) 21:11, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Part I did mention Beckham and my opinion on that inclusion. There is no rule that one page should follow another, see Wikipedia:Other stuff exists. His family is trivial because his job is to play football. Everything else can be mentioned in early or personal life sections. Please bare in mind you have also broken the three revert rule. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:14, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I think one of the rules is "If a rule prevents you from improving or maintaining Wikipedia, ignore it." - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ignoring_all_rules_%E2%80%93_a_beginner%27s_guide Part (talk) 21:19, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

What is your take Administrator? My referenced edits have been reverted unfairly I think Part (talk) 21:24, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a question for an administrator.--Bbb23 (talk) 00:04, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
His family is mentioned in the personal life section, where it should be. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:26, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please apply your logic to the David Beckham article as you said you would. Otherwise you have double standards and there is no clear rule you are following. Part (talk) 21:30, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That would be a WP:POINTY edit, I have never edited his page and never plan to. Also, I have said there is more sense in having that information on Beckham, as he has been internationally famous for over 20 years and has done a vast portfolio of non-footballing work. '''tAD''' (talk) 21:34, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The Almightey Drill you were attempting to mislead me that you would remove that info? Smoke and mirrors! I could argue that Vardy achieved something thought impossible odds 5000/1 http://uk.businessinsider.com/how-much-money-youd-win-betting-on-leicester-fc-to-win-the-premier-league Although a 'recent arrival', I technically do not see how the edits I made are 'wrong' since there is a precedent. Arsenal

He may not have decided on his future, but his release clause was activated by Arsenal and was officially announced. Even if he rejects them, it will need to be mentioned. 50.98.164.35 (talk) 07:19, 7 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
