An IP editor is insisting that the following link:

Tristin Hopper: This is what actual, real-life cultural appropriation looks like

an article from the National Post, be removed from the external links section. Their only comments, in edit summaries, is that "The linked article has a similar premise, but it doesn't have anything else in common with this article," and "article listed does not reference the Duanas, Taiwan, "Return to Innocence", or "Enigma". These, however, are not proper justifications for removal, since one of the purposes of the External Links section is to provide the reader with further information that could not, for various reasons, be included in the article. That this article concerns an incident of "cultural appropriation" and the linked article is about a different incident of cultural appropriation merely serves to provide the reader with a broader context for the incident in the article.

The IP editor;s failure to discuss the issue here, or on their talk page, may be an indication that they wish the EL to be deleted simply because WP:IDONTLIKEIT, which, of course, is never a justification for deletion.

I've asked the IP editor to stop edit-warring, and make their specific objections known here. What I'm interested in hearing are any policy-based reason to remove the EL. BMK (talk) 23:55, 11 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

it was added along with a bunch of unrelated links to stuff like the trail of tears.--76.21.6.165 (talk) 00:46, 12 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
