Hello Omniflames.

I have some questions concerning your last message paired with the rejection of my draft for 'Nekkeveld Estate'. We have provided three (in my opinion) reliable sources such as Dutch prominent newspapers (Telegraaf, Algemeen Dagblad) and an article on the website of a governmental institution. What could possibly be wrong with the notability of these sources?

Also, the omission of linking to a Dutch wiki page as source has been corrected.

Hi HandsomeFella. No, it hasn't been moved yet. That's because I don't have the power to move it as Edward Wood, 1st Earl of Halifax already exists and has history. However, I've added a {{db-move}} to the redirect, so that an admin will come along and delete the redirect so that the page can be moved. Hope that clears things up. The May backlog reduction drive, the usual coordinating tasks and preparations for the June election are keeping us on our toes! May drive: Thanks to everyone who participated in last month's record-setting backlog reduction drive. Of the 29 people who signed up, 16 copyedited at least one article, 197 copyedits were recorded on the drive page, and the copyedit backlog fell below 1,500 for the first time! Final results, including barnstars awarded, are available here. June Blitz: this one-week copy-editing blitz will occur from 12 June through 18 June; the themes will be video games and Asian geography. Coordinator elections: It's election time again; how quickly they seem to roll around! Nominations for the next tranche of Guild coordinators, who will serve a six-month term that begins at 00:01 UTC on 1 July and ends at 23:59 UTC on 31 December, opens at 00:01 UTC on 1 June and closes at 23:59 UTC on 15 June. Hanny's

Hello, Omni Flames.

You recently rejected my article for creation, Hanny's. I was somewhat confused by this since the chain has reliable references in the Arizona Republic, the largest newspaper in the state of Arizona as well as the largest non-national newspaper published by the Gannett Company. I was more puzzled, however, since the chain's former flagship is referenced in broken links on the pages Lescher and Mahoney and National Register of Historic Places listings in Phoenix, Arizona, since (and perhaps most importantly) the former flagship IS an NRHP-listed site (#85002058). In any case, I have edited and resubmitted the article with a direct link to the former flagship's NRHP listing. Since I was met with swift rejection, I anticipate swift approval given the subject's official recognition of historical significance by the federal government. I was just curious about the specifics of the matter.

@Historiarvm Arizonensis: There's no specific number of sources you need to show that the subject of the article is notable. You just need enough to prove that the company has been covered by reliable sources enough to warrant it's own encyclopedic article. You may want to see WP:GNG and WP:COMPANY. @Omni Flames: I've just edited Hanny's and added articles from the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, and the Tucson Citizen, all of which are accessible online. I figure that these non-biased references from non-local high profile publications reporting on a matter regarding a national company, Hartmarx, with references to Hanny's establishes it as a notable institution. Santa Claus is a fictional character; It was obviously added as a defacement. Please refrain from reverting changes that you clearly haven't looked at.

You recently messaged me about reverting the following change:

If you research Santa Claus, you'll see that it is a fictional character. This means that it cannot be a notable resident of a town. Furthermore, Santa Claus is purported to live on the *actual* north magnetic pole of the earth, rather than in North Pole, which is named after the former. So even if a fictional character should be listed under Notable Residents, it would be incorrect to place him in North Pole, AK.

Look back at the change in which Santa Claus was introduced to the article as a notable resident, and you can see that it was an obvious defacement of the article which added another resident of North Pole that clearly was not notable, likely made by the person themselves or an acquaintance of them.

What I have to wonder is why you reverted this. If you had looked at the change even superficially, you would have noticed all of this and left it alone.

I don't mean to be such a buzzkill-- I can appreciate the humour and magic in harmless jokes. But at the same time-- no, I really can't. Wikipedia is serious business and the sanctity of the North Pole, Alaska wikipedia page should be upheld. I went out of my way to do so, and I am annoyed that you went out of your way to undo my work.
