Novara is the private label brand of bicycles and bicycle accessories sold by the consumer cooperative REI. The brand was introduced in 1983 and is headquartered in Kent, Washington.[1] Novara bikes are designed in house; outsourced for manufacturing, then finished by REI.[2]

The Novara brand is also used for REI's line of cycling clothing[3] and accessories.[4]

Since 2008, REI has settled both in and out of court with an undisclosed number individuals who were riding Novara bikes that fell apart while they were in use, resulting in serious injuries. KOMO 4 News[5] has reported on these cases.
