The 2016–17 Arab World Club Cup is the 26th season of the Arab World's inter-club football tournament organised by UAFA, and the first season since it was renamed from the UAFA Club Cup to the Arab World Club Cup.

Three teams play a round-robin to determine the single qualifier.

Asian zone

Eight teams play a knock-out stage to determine 4 entrants into the second round.

Stage 1 round 2

African zone

1 winner from round 1 + 7 teams (from Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Libya and Sudan) play a knock-out stage to determine 4 entrants into stage 2.

Asian zone

4 winners from round 1 + 4 teams (from UAE, KSA, Qatar and Jordan) play a knock-out stage to determine 4 entrants into stage 2.
