The orange-winged pytilia (Pytilia afra) is a common species of estrildid finch found in Africa. It has an estimated global extent of occurrence of 2,300,000 km2.

It is commonly found in Angola, Botswana, Burundi, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, South Africa, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The IUCN has classified the species as being of least concern.
