Paramjit Bahia (born November 10, 1950, in Kukar Pind, Punjab, India) was a prominent field hockey player who represented Canada on the Men’s National Team in several international competitions in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. He was affectionately called "the Jalandhar Kid" by his team-mates, in recognition of the District of Jalandhar where he played most of his hockey growing up in India. Coaches and team-mates remember him as an extremely hard-working hockey player who had characteristics such as loyalty to his club and team-mates. He helped his club team, India Field Hockey Club,[1] gain notoriety by winning many Championships[2] in Vancouver, Canada and elsewhere. After his playing career came to an end, he became a Board of Directors (Coaching) with BC Field Hockey (the predecessor to Field Hockey BC) and was as a provincial level coach.

As a player, he represented Canada in the following international tournaments:

• 1978 World Cup, Argentina[3] • 1979 Pan Am Games (silver medal), Puerto Rico[4] • 1979 World Tournament, Australia • 1977 and 1981 Intercontinental Cups in Italy and Malaysia respectively
