GigaScience is a scientific journal that began publishing peer reviewed scientific articles in 2011. The journal specializes in presenting research and large data-sets that result from work in the biomedical and life sciences.[1]The journal has a strong commitment to open data and open access, allowing readers to access data referenced in each journal through its Giga DB. All of the data in this database is referenced through a Digital object identifier (DOI), an identifier which provides a constant reference to the data from each of the published articles. GigaScience also provides a Galaxy-based platform to analyze the data, GigaGalaxy.
