A New Breed of Hero, Part 1 (Japanese: ＶＳエド（前編）Ｅヒーロー対Ｅヒーロー), VS Ed (Part 1) - E-Hero VS E-Hero) is the 58th episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX). It was first broadcast in Japan on November 9, 2005 and in the USA in August 27, 2006.

Which side is using the true Hero? The conclusion is needed. The duel between Jaden and Aster has finally started. Jaden initiates the attack by Flame Wingman. Suddenly, Edo summons Phoenix Guy by the same fusion. Also, the fight becomes the high-class E-Hero fusion battle between Shining Flare Wingman and Shining Phoenix Guy. Anyway, Aster hasn't approved Jaden having the talent as a hero.

Goofs

• When Aster states that his Elemental Hero Shining Pheonix Enforcer recieves 300 extra attack points for every Elemental Hero in his graveyard, we see a faint image of the cards in his graveyard. One of those cards is a VWXYZ Dragon Catapult Cannon, when it is supposed to be an Elemental Hero Pheonix Enforcer.

• When Aster activates his D-Time trap card, it allows him to search for one Destiny Hero card, however, he grabs two cards from his deck. One of them being Zolga, which is not a Destiny Hero and is never seen again.
