Proposed deletion of PJ Watts Crips

The article PJ Watts Crips has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced, contains original research, non-encyclopedic in tone, multiple improper links & links placed incorrectly in text of article. Needs major cleanup and reliable sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Niteshift36 (talk) 19:15, 6 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Lamont Fleskani13, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Oak Park Bloods has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 19:12, 10 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Liwa Ahrar Souriya, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Islamic Front (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

There is copyright in Syria, which lasts for 10 years after publication. This is in no way considered being exempt from copyright in the country. So please don't upload logos of Syrian groups as public domain, but fair use unless they're very geometrically simple. Editor abcdef (talk) 05:43, 13 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't upload rebel logos as own work

Hi Lamont, you have continued uploading rebel logos and related images, claiming that they are your own work, after a number of deletion discussions. Please stop doing this. These logos likely can be included in Wikipedia, but they must be labeled as non-free. If you would like help uploading a logo like this, please inquire at WP:MCQ. People there can assist you. Non-free image use

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically Jabhat al-Akrad, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:10, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lamont Fleskani13. Please make sure to check the licensing of any file before adding to an article. freely licensed images, like the ones you might find on Wikimedia Commons, can pretty much be used in any article without restriction since Commons only accepts freely licensed content or public domain content. There's no 100% guarantee that the image is not a copyright violation even when it comes to Commons, but most of the time the file should be OK.
Not every image you see on Wikipedia, however, is freely licensed. Wikipedia does allow certain types of copyright-protected to be uploaded as [[::WP:NFC|non-free content]]. The way such content can be uses is highly restricted and each usage of a non-free logo must satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed at WP:NFCCP. Basically, non-free usage is required, among other things, to be highly contextual and not simply to show the file. That is why a file such as File:Euphrates Volcano logo.jpg is considered acceptable for Euphrates Volcano, but not acceptable to be used in infoboxes of articles like Northern Sun Battalion. The usage of non-free files can be tricky and even experienced editors occasionally make mistakes. Mistakes can be fixed, but please try to be careful from here on. Please note that while occasional mistakes are not too big a deal, a pattern of behavior that indicates a disregard for Wikipedia's non-free content policy is eventually going to be seen as disruptive and might possibly lead to an administrator being asked to get involved. All you have to do is check each file's page before adding it to an article. If it's freely licensed, then you should be fine. If it's non-free, you probably should not add it to the article without asking first at WT:NFCC or WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 05:28, 2 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Maintenance templates

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Manbij Military Council. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Reference errors on 1 July

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:22, 2 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

Your recent edits on the Syrian Civil War map, which involved changing the control status of hundreds of towns, are very troubling. Why did you make this massive change without supplying any source? This contradicts your statement on your userpage that you are committed to providing sources for edits. Why did you do this? Pbfreespace3 (talk) 14:21, 14 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for that i will provide sources next time i was just showing the Rojava Federal State

Once again, you have made several edits without a source. Is there a source you are using? If there is, you should list your source in the edit summary. However, if you continue to edit without sources after being told not to, you will be reported for disruptive behavior (vandalism). I hope it does not come to this, and that you can source your edits and work to improve Wikipedia. Best wishes, Pbfreespace3 (talk) 04:15, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Syrian Civil War general sanctions notification

Please read this notification carefully, it contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

A community decision has authorised the use of general sanctions for pages related to the Syrian Civil War and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. The details of these sanctions are described here. All pages that are broadly related to these topics are subject to a one revert per twenty-four hours restriction, as described here.

General sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimise disruption in controversial topic areas. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to these topics that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behaviour, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. An editor can only be sanctioned after he or she has been made aware that general sanctions are in effect. This notification is meant to inform you that sanctions are authorised in these topic areas, which you have been editing. It is only effective if it is logged here. Before continuing to edit pages in these topic areas, please familiarise yourself with the general sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.
