Blair Witch (formerly marketed under the faux-title, 'The Woods')[1] is an upcoming 2016 American found footage horror film directed by Adam Wingard[2] and written by Simon Barrett. The film is intended to be a sequel to The Blair Witch Project and follows a group of hikers in a remote forest who find themselves in danger. It is due for release in the United States on September 16, 2016.[3] On July 22nd, it was reveled at San Diego Comic Con that the title of the film was actually Blair Witch and would be a sequel to The Blair Witch Project.[4]
Plot
A group of college students venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James’ sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch. At first the group is hopeful, especially when a pair of locals offer to act as guides through the dark and winding woods, but as the endless night wears on, the group is visited by a menacing presence. Slowly, they begin to realize the legend is all too real and more sinister than they could have imagined.[5]
