The Casualties

The Casualties are an influential street punk/Oi Punk band from New York formed in 1990. They formed out of a desire to return to the golden era of punk, which was all but gone by 1985. During the early years of the band, the lineup changed constantly. The initial lineup was Colin and Jorge as vocals, Yureesh on drums, Hank on guitar, and Mark on bass. Colin stepped out for several months to finish his education while Rachel, Rivits's singer, took his place. At this point, the Casualties put together a demo. The lineup at this point was Colin, Jorge, Yureesh, and Mark. Fred was added on as guitarist when hank dropped out. Fred dropped off to head to school ,also, while C Squat's Scott filled in. At the same time, Hank came and went for the second time. Anothe guitatist, Steve, also filled in. The band's lineup solidified long enough for an EP , 40 oz Casualty, to be made. by '92, the band was touring and building up a fan base in NYC. In 1993, the lineup was to change again. Bassist Mark and guitarist Fred were out, and Mike became bassist and Jake guitarist. Many old-school fans, however have a more skeptical point of view regarding them as "Sellouts", since they signed with major label SideOneDummyRecords and produced a video
