The Sitones were mysterious, or mythical, people in somewhere in Northern Europe. Germanic people. They are only mentioned by Cornelius Tacitus in 97 CE. Tacitus considers them as a Germanic people.

"Bordering on the Suiones are the nations of the Sitones. They resemble them in all respects but one - woman is the ruling sex. That is the measure of their decline, I will not say below freedom, but even below decent slavery."

This may be a memory of a period in which the Suiones (the Svear) were ruled by a certain queen. Another speculative hypothesis is that the Sitones were living somewhere in present-day Western Finland, and were actually a Finnic group.
