Šilutė Airfield

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Petebutt (talk | contribs) at 14:10, 8 September 2016 (Petebutt moved page Šilutė Airport to Šilutė airfield: barely qualifies as an airfield let alone airport). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Šilutė Airport (ICAO code EYSI) is a former Lithuanian Air Force airfield located at western part of Lithuania, 5 km east from town of Šilutė. Also it's been a base for glider pilot training since 1950s. Today it is mainly used by aviation enthusiasts operating private ultralight aircraft and gliders. Airfield has concrete runway of 400m which is not used any more (reasonably good condition, operated only by RC modelers), and grass strip of ~600m, which is regularly maintained and used all year round.
