"After the crash of the KM, Soviet military heads used the incident as an excuse to remove Alexeev from the ekranoplan projects. He spent the rest of his life away from scientific work, concentrating mostly on sports. He died in 1980."

The documentary from the channel "Smotr" claims that KM crashed AFTER his death. "Excuse to remove..." needs a citation badly. Removing if no one finds one.

The link for hydrofoil "Meteor" (Kometa) takes the user to the wrong ship. The actual Kometa was an elegant hydrofoil ferry that deserves to be correctly linked. IMHO.

Correct name?

I realise that this is probably mostly a question of how you convert cyrillic to roman, but I have now seen the great man's name rendered as Alexeyev, Alexeev and Alexiev. Anyone any information on which is more correct, or which he preferred himself? Flicktokick 10:14, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
