Fair use rationale for Image:Palacecast.jpg

Image:Palacecast.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cast

I took out Christine Baranski because I never saw her on the show. Maybe her character was originally planned for the pilot, but was written out before taping. FotoPhest (talk) 23:58, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We should look for sources to confirm this.Dwanyewest (talk) 00:48, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RfC: Should a reference to Alexei Sayle being dropped from the cast of the Golden Palace before the pilot be included in the show's article?

Should the following sentence remain in the article on The Golden Palace? "British comedian Alexei Sayle was originally hired for the series in the role of the hotel's chef, who he was to have portrayed as an Eastern European,[Sayle 1] but was replaced by Cheech Marin before the pilot was shot.[Sayle 2]" 192.235.252.195 (talk) 16:42, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Support - As mover. Background: An editor keeps removing the line using the unsupported pretext that it doesn't belong. The claim that information about the casting of the pilot "does not belong" in an article is unsupported and appears to be the editor's personal preference rather than Wikipedia policy. The information in question is sourced, the comedian in question is notable, and there are certainly many other examples of references to casting decisions prior to shooting a pilot being made in various articles about television programs so the removal of the sentence appears to me to have no justification other then personal preference. 192.235.252.195 (talk) 16:36, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Note—The "Support" comment above is from the original poster. AldezD (talk) 12:15, 2 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose—There are thousands of television show articles on Wikipedia, almost all of which have casting information. Some have information detailing cast changes during production, but the vast majority do not contain information about cast changes from pilot to air—unless there is some otherwise notable controversy or related justification to mention casting on a pilot which was later changed. Additionally, the Chicago Tribune source detailing the casting of Sayle is mentioned once within the article and appears as WP:SIGCOV in no other WP:RS when performing a Google search. The second reference you list in this discussion does not meet guidelines in WP:RS or the essay WP:IS since it appears to be the actor's personal website and not an independent source.
