The link named RedTube links to the Wiki-page about amateur ponography. This should be fixed.

Corporate Agenda
Just wondering if it's worth mentioning Bill O'Reilly has talked about this site specifically on his show several times, even showing a screenshot of the entry page. He says bad things about it, but it's almost like he wants people to check it out. I'll see if I can find a citation on the fox website. CashDude (talk) 09:29, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
- That's because Bill O' Reilly is a dirty little pig, don't forget about his phone-sex harassment scandal. He probably visits that site every night before going to bed ;D --Nabo0o (talk) 02:34, 13 August 2009 (UTC)
Glitch
The glitch mentioned is now gone, when the leave button is pressed it leads to wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.29.40 (talk) 18:24, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
Blocking
I think Malaysia blocks it too. Although the Malaysian government had promised under the MSC Agreement not to censor the internet, it appears that Malaysians (incl. me) cant access YouPorn. --60.50.73.210
<quote> Following a request by a competing pornography service, German provider Arcor started to block YouPorn and a few other porn sites at the routing level in September 2007[16], affecting over 2 million users. </quote>
Thats not correct. Arcors DNS-Server couldn't resolve in Sept 07, but IP wasn't blocked. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.67.134.210 (talk) 14:38, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Singapore
This site does not appear to be blocked in Singapore. Redtube however actually is. Can anyone else confirm this? PlopperZ (talk) 14:45, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
- It's certainly blocked by Singtel with an MDA notice. Jpatokal (talk) 12:13, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
YouPorn has been called "a good role model for the sexually naive", as many of its homemade videos depict ordinary couples having ordinary sex, as opposed to the often unreal scenarios of commercial porn
Really? "ordinary couples"?? when was the last time you and your partner had sex with 6 other guys, in public. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 222.154.163.174 (talk) 14:37, 15 August 2008 (UTC)

Turkey
Turkey blocks it either since 23.11.2007.
(Access to this web site is banned by "TELEKOMÜNİKASYON İLETİŞİM BAŞKANLIĞI" according to the order of: Eskişehir 2. Sulh Ceza Mahkemesi, 23.11.2007 of 2007/1705)
And also, Similar cases headed up to most user contribution called websites such as Youtube, xhamster.com, redtube.com. Furthermore, the most interesting part of Turkish Freedom of Speech is that Google is sued by ADD(Ataturkcu Dusunce Dernegi) whom are claimed to be the modernest side of Turkey. Indeed, it has been really hard time to find out who's been doing these ridiculous things after all.
Moreover, Turkey is the most amazing and dynamic political environment that has been identified by many of the middle east scholars. Although, new publications in the US specially Texas based STRATFOR intelligence company that predict, Turkey will be the leading country in the area of "Middle East" even USA wants it or not. There are still small but silent debate goes in the deep root of the government whether this unusual reaction of Turkey started with an "Inescapable Truth" minded action or this is part of a big plan that the residence of Turkey has not been realized yet but time to start understanding of questioning.

Downloading
The site appears to have removed the flv download link for the videos as of 9/15/2008. As of this date, there are no previews for any videos. Also, the "Related Videos" and "Featured Videos" sections are unpopulated or missing. Ara Praxis (talk) 20:18, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Update
Some of the more recent videos have been showing previews for their movies. However, it seems that all amateur porn has been removed from the site and replaced with hardcore pornography. 98.150.166.112 (talk) 03:37, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Yeah for some reason youporn deleted all of their videos about a month or 2 ago and replaced them with some new ones, and surprisingly it seems that amateur vids aren't being added anymore and a lot of the vids seem to be previews for movies you can buy and even feature a link to where you can buy it, personally this leads me to believe that sice youporn has has had an increase in good quality porn and a decrease in amateur porn that while the site still says that you can upload videos thaey really got rid of it and started adding their own vids, though it could also be that they deleted the old vids since alot of them were pirated and began adding only new ones of high quality and not amateur along with ones that they upload personally as ads so as to generate revenue. also i should note that lots of their vids say youporn at the bottom right hand corner. (207.172.55.227 (talk) 07:21, 1 November 2008 (UTC))
This article is inaccurate as it stands: the youporn site it describes does not exist anymore. All content is professionally made now and all amateur content has been taken down. Also users can not upload their homemade videos anymore. This article needs to be rewritten to reflect the new reality.

Is there a reason it's not a link? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.232.23.134 (talk) 02:57, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
why is this page protected, it reads like an advertisement for youporn in many ways and could sure use some editing. The site is not as much about web2.0 and user generated content as it is about pure piracy.Copyrightthieveswillpay (talk)

Is it a reason for us not linking to www.youporn.com? Nsaa (talk) 16:57, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- I think there needs to be a clear reason for not linking if this is to be the case. A link would be natural in most circumstances, YouTube for example. Martin Hogbin (talk) 23:50, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
- The link was blacklisted by a bot it seems, or on the advice of the bot, per the report at m:User:COIBot/LinkReports/youporn.com. I think it's just merely a matter of requesting the URL be unblocked as there doesn't appear to be any large scale spamming of the link occuring. -- Longhair\talk 01:58, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- It's declined at meta:Talk:Spam_blacklist#YouPorn.com, It's possible to ask for a whitelisting at MediaWiki_talk:Spam-whitelist. Nsaa (talk) 09:37, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

Stupid wikipedia censorship!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.29.87.194 (talk) 00:06, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
A sourced fact is misinterpreted as "Original Research"
Fact: When you press "Leave" on YouPorn's age-check page, you go to the multilingual Wikipedia portal page - WWW.wikipedia.org.
Source: The age-check page itself; simply press "Leave" and you'll see for yourself.
Reliable?: If it's the page of the subject of the article, you'd better darn well believe it is!
Original research: Theory without basis in fact nor a reliable source to back it up.
Is Original Research synonymous with solid fact?: This Wiktionary edit will tell you.
Despite evidence to the contrary, various users still revert the fact, persistently claiming "original research." --Let Us Update Special:Ancientpages. 18:53, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- If you select LEAVE on that site's opening page, on my PC at least, it takes you to http://www.wikipedia.org/. Why that would be, I couldn't say. The question is whether it does that for everyone, or if it only does it for those who happen to have a wikipedia cookie that it's latching onto somehow. So it's still, arguably, original research. You would be well-advised to find a reviewer somewhere that confirms its behavior. Beyond that, "if you do such-and-such" is not good encyclopedic writing. Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? 19:07, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
- It's also not that interesting. A lot of adult websites have a "leave" option leading to an innocuous website. The New York Times and Disney.com seem fairly popular choices for this, but why does it bear mentioning in an article? GeeJo (t)⁄(c) • 20:53, 23 September 2009 (UTC)

Flash not needed
"Like many other such video sites, it requires the browser plug-in Flash technology." There is no such requirement. VLC media player and MPlayer play .flv just fine. Pending changes
This article is one of a small number (about 100) selected for the first week of the trial of the Wikipedia:Pending Changes system on the English language Wikipedia. All the articles listed at Wikipedia:Pending changes/Queue are being considered for level 1 pending changes protection.
The following request appears on that page:
Many of the articles were selected semi-automatically from a list of indefinitely semi-protected articles. Please confirm that the protection level appears to be still warranted, and consider unprotecting instead, before applying pending changes protection to the article. |
However with only a few hours to go, comments have only been made on two of the pages.
Please update the Queue page as appropriate.
Note that I am not involved in this project any more than any other editor, just posting these notes since it is quite a big change, potentially.

SOPA
Please Add:
On January 18, 2012, also known as "Blackout Day", YouPorn joined thousands of sites worldwide in protest of the proposed Stop Online Privacy Act [SOPA] by censoring the contents of it's website. In addition, YouPorn took to Twitter to raise awareness of the impending legislation, successfully making "Save Porn" the #1 Trending Topic Worldwide for several hours and generating more than 9500 retweets [1] [2] [3]. In a post made January 19, 2012 (the day after "Blackout Day"), Klout released a SOPA Influencers Summary noting YouPorn as the 15th most influential Twitter account on the topic of SOPA on the day of the protest. It would be nice to mention that YouPorn used to be built on top of Catalyst (software), but they switched to Symfony. They also use Redis (and MySQL) as database.

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.
