Pesäpallo
Appearance
Finnish baseball (the Finnish name "pesäpallo" is also used by English speakers) is a fast moving ball sport similar to baseball. It is the national sport of Finland. It is played to some extent also in Germany, Australia and elsewhere.
Finnish Baseball was developed by Lauri "Tahko" Pihkala around 1910 and developed further in 1920. Later changes were introduced in 1990s by the Finnish Baseball federation. Finnish baseball has 3 out-bases and a homebase. Players hit the ball out to cathers and then try to move from base to base before the ball can be thrown there. Unlike baseball the ball pitched upwards from the homebase.
