Min Yoon-gi (born March 9, 1993 ; Hangul: 민윤기), better known as Suga, is a South Korean rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is the lead rapper of the South Korean boy group BTS, managed under Big Hit Entertainment. In 2016, he released his first solo mixtape, Agust D.

Early life

Min Yoon-gi was born on March 9, 1993 in Buk District, Daegu, South Korea and has an older brother.[1] Before his debut with BTS, he was an underground artist/producer under the stage name "Gloss".

Career

Bangtan Boys

On June 13, 2013, Suga made his debut as a member of BTS on Mnet's M! Countdown with the track "No More Dream" from their debut single album 2 Cool 4 Skool.[2][3] He has produced and written lyrics for a variety of tracks on all of BTS's albums.

Solo work

His first mixtape dropped on August 16th in 2016 under the name Agust D, combining his stage name spelled backwards with the initials of "D-Town", which is the name of his old hiphop crew in Daegu. Two tracks from his mixtape, "Agust D" and "give it to me" have music videos released on YouTube.
