Grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohammed Ali Tabatabai Al-Hassani (Arabic: السيد محمد علي الطباطبائي الحسني) (born 1945) is an Iraqi Twelver Shia Marja'.[1][2]

He has studied in Shia Islamic seminaries of Najaf, Iraq under Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei, Sayed Mohammed Al-Shirazi, and others.

He currently resides in London, United Kingdom, and delivers speeches in his home. The Sayed also visits Shia Islamic centres around London, including Masjid Al-Muhassin - the mosque of Sheikh Yasser Al-Habib, where Sheikh Al-Habib would pray behind him.

Grand Ayatollah Sayed M. Ali Tabatabai has authored a number of books, and is known, amongst other things, for his stance against the Iranian regime, deeming them to be against the teachings of Shia Islam.
