Genesis

I created this page after watching my step-daughter attempt to do research on Seymour Burr for a class project. The information we found was scarce, poorly written and much of it was plagiarized from one site to the next. I also found that asking students to research and represent Mr. Burr at a US middle-school level in a 'Town Meeting' context seems to be a typical lesson plan, and several posts from students indicated that they were having difficulty finding good information for this assignment.

Finding no page on Mr. Burr within Wikipedia yet, I did my best here to sum up what appears to be the accepted information about Mr. Burr from the several sources that I could find, avoiding any direct quotes from those sites. I hope that others will contribute better source information over time now that this page exists.

Chronology

The article states:

On 5 April 1781, Seymour enlisted in the connecticut Seventh Regiment, led by Colonel John Brooks. He fought at Bunker Hill and Fort Catskill

Can anyone clarify this? The battle at Bunker Hill was in 1775, 6 years before Seymour enlisted. Mingusboodle (talk) 21:03, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline problem

"Military service" section:

"On 5 April 1781, Seymour enlisted in the Massachusetts Seventh Regiment, led by Colonel John Brooks. He fought at Bunker Hill and Fort Catskill, and suffered through the long winter at Valley Forge."

The Battle of Bunker Hill was June 17, 1775. Otr500 (talk) 11:38, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
