Rock On II (also known as Rock On 2 and Rock On!! 2) is a 2016 upcoming Indian Hindi musical drama film directed by Shujaat Saudagar, produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, and with music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. It stars Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Prachi Desai, and Purab Kohli in lead roles. Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora also star.[1]
Rock On 2, which is a sequel to the 2008 film, Rock On!!, is scheduled to release on 11 November 2016. It is the first ever sequel of a musical in Bollywood.[2]

Production
Principal photography began in Shillong, Meghalaya on October 6, 2015 and in numeours other locations in the state.[5]
Promotion
A live concert by the stars and music directors was held in National Sports Club of India in Mumbai on September 17, for the album launch.[6] Akhtar and Kapoor, along with members of the former's Farhan Live band embarked on a nationwide concert tour such as in Bangalore and Aurangabad (November 2). Akhtar performed at the annual 2016 NH7 Weekender held in Shillong on from October 21–22.[7] In October, Arjun Rampal, Farhan Akhtar, Shraddha Kapoor and Prachi Desai made an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show.[8]
Soundtrack
The soundtrack on the film is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Akhtar and Kapoor sang all parts of their respective songs.[2]
