Check that they are really unused. The sample I looked at showed that {{SA Greens/meta/color}} is a redirect to {{Australian_politics/party_colours/SA_Greens}} so while the other system duplicates this one, the templates rely on these and need to be substituted before this system is deleted. Scott Davis, that redirect wouldn't work if it were used since the {{"party"/meta/color}} templates don't include the bgcolor="" part, for example, see {{ACT Greens/meta/color}}. so, if you want {{SA Greens/meta/color}} to work, it needs to be rewritten to conform. would be trivial to recreate since it's the same colour as {{ACT Greens/meta/color}}, {{Tasmanian Greens/meta/color}}, ... This system does not work for Template:Australian Labor Party/meta/color (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages) and Template:Liberal Party of Australia/meta/color (talk · history · transclusions · logs · subpages) where people remove the bgcolor="" part.--Grahame (talk) 02:43, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
This system appears to be still used (at least sometimes) by {{Election box candidate AU party}}. I tried to correct the party of Bernard Fitzsimon in Orange state by-election, 2016 and got sent here because {{Australian politics/name/Country Labor}} is being considered for deletion. Is the calling template smart enough to get the name from somewhere else if that page did not exist? --Scott Davis Talk 13:59, 17 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Scott Davis the remaining templates have been updated, so your change should work now. Grahame, the drop-in replacement is to replace {{Australian politics/party colour/"name"}} with {{Australian party style|"name"}} since the {{Australian party style}} generates the inline style statement. I did a search in template space and found only a few remaining uses of the old system, which I updated to the new system. There are still about 3000 uses of the old system in article space, but none of those use the templates listed above. eventually, a bot would be helpful for changing things over to the new system, but there is no urgency.
