Pilania is a gotra (clan) of Jats.[1] Gyan Prakash Pilania [2] is an eminent personality of Rajasthan in India. He was officer of the Indian Police Service. He is a social reformer and leader of farmers in Rajasthan. Recently Lt. Col. Mahipal Singh Pilania got martyred during the UN peacekeeping operations in South Sudan in 2013.[3] Another eminent personality is Gourav Pilania from Jhajjar (Haryana) who is a journalist for India Today.[4]
