Aashish Rana (born June 25, 1989) is a Nepalese rapper and actor popular by his stage name – Laure. He presented his rapping via a rap battle on YouTube which gained him popularity. He was the most searched for Nepalese celebrity on Google in the year 2013.[1]

Personal life

Aashish Rana was born on June 25, 1989 in Pokhara, Nepal. He was attracted to singing since he was in grade 6. He completed his school life from LA Higher Secondary School. He started his career from mobile recording. His song Mero Solta was the first song which he recorded on a mobile phone and uploaded on YouTube. The aforementioned upload made his voice very popular. He completed his higher education from Sagarmatha College.[1] His friends thought that his physical appearance and looks made him look like a soldier, and so they gave him the moniker “Laure”. One of his mates named Pratish Gurung was a true inspiration to him. Laure said,"Hanging out with Pratish Gurung was such a rock and roll experience." [2]
