Dhruva is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language film directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind under his banner Geetha Arts. It features Ram Charan, Arvind Swamy and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. It is a remake of Tamil film Thani Oruvan (2015).[3] The movie was released worldwide on 9 December 2016.[1]

Production
Development
It is an official remake of the Tamil film Thani Oruvan (2015).[3] Navdeep is apparently cast as the one of Charan's cop friends which is an important role in the story.[5] Ram Charan have reportedly got training himself under Sultan and Dangal[disambiguation needed] fame bodybuilder Rakesh Udiyar.[6] Rakul Preet Singh was selected to pair with Ram Charan for the second time after Shruti Haasan turned down the offer due to schedule conflict.[clarification needed][citation needed]
Crew
The film will feature music by Hiphop Tamizha, who composed for the Tamil original[7] and cinematography is by P. S. Vinod.[8]
Filming
The film was launched on 18 February 2016 and principal photography commenced on 22 February 2016.[9][10]
Release
The film was initially set for release on 7 October, is scheduled for a worldwide release on 9 December 2016.[1]
