Mushtaq Jalili (27 October 1927 - 14 October 2004) was the son of well-known Urdu poet Fasahat Jung Jaleel(Jaleel Manikpuri),his father was a urdu poet under nizam kingdom in Hyderabad He was born in Hyderabad(Telangana) and died in juhu(Mumbai).He came to bombay to be a writer in film industry, his journey was not easy to become a writer in filmindustry.

He joined the Hindi film industry around 1950 as a writer, he began his career working for Abdur Rashid Kardar. His films include bhavna,Naseeb Apna Apna (1986 film), salaami,avtaar, aadmi sadak ka, Aatish, anokhi adaa,inaam das hazaar "Kaun Apna Kaun Paraya", "Ek Phool Do Mali", "Aap To Aise Na The ,.
