Robert Lighthizer
Robert Emmet Lighthizer, born October 11, 1947 in Ashtabula, Ohio, is an American lawyer.[1][2]
Lighthizer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1969 and a law degree in 1973 at Georgetown University. After his studies he worked as a lawyer. He has for a long time represented the U.S. steel industry. In the 1980s, he served as assistant trade representative in President Ronald Reagan's[3]
On January 3, 2017 President Elect Donald Trump announced that he chose to nominate Lighthizer to be the U.S. trade representative in his cabinet.[4]
