Kate Gilmore is the Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations.[1] Gilmore has previously worked in wide range of high-profile public sector and NGO positions. These include being the Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director (Programme) of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA, CEO of the Broadmeadows Community (1993), being manager of the division of community care in the Royal Women’s Hospital Australia (1993-1996), being National Director of Amnesty International Australia as National Director (1996-2000) and being Executive Deputy Secretary General of Amnesty International (2000-2010).[2]
