New name

This article needs a new name. "The Best" is the name of the event, and the subtitle is "FIFA Football Awards 2016", but this article makes it sound like there are multiple "FIFA Football Awards" and this is the best one. – PeeJay 14:43, 13 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Voting difference

What is the difference voting wise between this award and Ballon d'or? Mobile mundo (talk) 20:27, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

this vote is made by all national team captains, all national team coach, media vote and fan vote (each represent 25%)
this award The Best FIFA Football Player Award, is for players that are from any place and play for any team, at any place in the world, the 2016 ballon d'or is not world wide award, its a Erupean award given exclusively to European club players ( for a brief period of years when the ballon d'or was given by the fifa was world wide award, but before and after that, were allways a eropean award exclusive for european club players, and on the early years (until like 1994) was exclusive for european nationals (so then, players like Pele that allways played for brazilian teams, or Maradona, who even played at european teams Barcelona and Napoli, was not qualified for the ballon d'or pre 1994, for not been born in europe. afaik the ballon d'or is now AGAIN voted only by european press and given to players that play on european clus only. so its not as prestigious beause is just a European award and not a world award.
also it may be of interest to let you know, and even to add to the article the voting breakdown of the top 3 on each The Best FIFA Awards. look at this FIFA link Official FIFA Top 3 Vote breakdown between press, coach, captains and fans and also Official FIFA who voted who --WiZaRd SaiLoR (talk) 23:05, 9 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

voting breakdown (Coach, captain, media, fans) diference and influence on winners

Its usefull to include the finalist breakdown on votes, bacuse displays how certain finalist were more popular among fans, and did not win. also shows the diferent values each finalist had for each group. example messi had half the support from media compared to cristiano ronaldo, but ronaldo had less votes from fans, the Brazilian Marta, also won fans vote and media vote, but still lost the award to Carli Lloyd that had more support from coach and captain vote. Zinedine Zidane also won on the fans vote, but lost heavy on media vote this really is important to have for the finalist, and having the trusted source of the info there, i dont see any reason to delete that info. is worth it to have it there.--WiZaRd SaiLoR (talk) 00:48, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
