Sequencing.com is an online application platform for genomics and biotechnology software. It includes an App Store for DNA and provides cloud-based data storage, analysis and management for genetic data obtained from genetic testing including DNA microarrays, exome sequencing and whole genome sequencing.[1][2][3][4]

Company history

The company was founded by Brandon Colby MD to provide value for people who have genetic data.[5][6][7]

Technology

Real-Time Personalization

The company's patent-pending Real-Time Personalization (+RTP) technology enables software applications to provide a personalized user experience based upon the app user's genes.[8]

Products and services

Genetic data storage

Sequencing.com provides people who register for a free account with free, unlimited storage of genetic data that is not sold or made available to third-parties. The Sequencing.com platform provides universal compatibility for genetic data formats and is both HIPAA-compliant and EU-US Privacy Shield-compliant.[9][10][11][12]

The Sequencing.com platform provides universal genetic data compatibility. This is described by the company as allowing genetic data that is generated by any genetic testing service to be able to be used with the software applications sold in Sequencing.com's app marketplace. The company states that genetic data produced by genetic tests offered by a large number of companies is compatible with it's platform including Illumina, Wuxi NextCODE, 23andMe, Ancestry.com, National Geographic's The Genographic Project, MyHeritage and Family Tree DNA.

App Marketplace

Sequencing.com includes an online app market for software applications that analyze genetic data.[13][14]

In-house apps

The company develops some of the software applications in-house that are then sold in it's app marketplace.[15][16]

Third-party apps

Sequencing.com's app marketplace also includes software applications that are developed by third party software developers.[17][18]

On December 15 2016, the company announced that two software applications by the company Titanovo, Inc. were available from purchase from the Sequencing.com App Market.[19]

Application programming interfaces

Sequencing.com provides two application programming interfaces, the Real-Time Personalization® (+RTP) API and the App Market API.[20][21]

Real-Time Personalization API

The +RTP API enables mobile applications to personalize the user experience for the app user.[22]

App Market API

App Market API allows software hosted on a third-party website that analyzes or interprets genetic data to be sold in Sequencing.com's App Market.[23]
