You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown is one of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was originally aired on the CBS network in 1972.

Linus runs for the post of student body president with a vigorous and enthusiastic campaign, which receives a setback when he spreads the message of the Great Pumpkin. He wins the election by one vote - cast by his opponent, who feels that Linus is better for the job. He goes to the principal with the intention of laying down the law, but leaves the principal's office taken aback. Snoopy was in a small segment with the music, "Joe Cool". He enters a classroom, disturbs the class and is kicked out of school.

The special was originally to be titled You're Elected, Charlie Brown, but close to post-production, it was realized that since Charlie Brown was not actually running for student president, the original title made little to no sense.
