Para-commando Brigade(Bangladesh Army) is a Specialized and an independent Special operation's Brigade in Bangladesh Army.Bangladesh Government has taken a plan to make the Armed forces more powerful and potential. For that Reason, Forces Goal 2030 has been started. Forces Goal 2030 is a long-term modernization program for Bangladesh Armed Forces. Its main purpose is expanding the force size, acquiring modern war-machines and providing next level training. The goal also emphasizes developing indigenous defence industries. According to This ,Special Force: Army Para-Commando has been upgraded in to a Brigade.This Brigade's Main work is to perform special operations in any time,any moment,any situation,any place . [2]

Under this Brigade's Command ,there are three Para-Commando Battalions. They are:

Commandos are trained to operate in any kind of missions at home and abroad. Their missions include (but are not limited to):

Before Rising any Commando unit in Bangladesh There were many Commandos.They were trained in Pakistan Army Special Force- SSG. But after rising the commando unit their names has been kept in it.Most of them are War Heroes from Bangladesh Liberation War ,1971. Some of them are:- Lieutenant General Ziaur Rahman,BU;Colonel Abu Taher,BU;Colonel A.T.M. Haider,BU;Major M .Anwar Hossain(Hail Commando),SBP;Brigadier Rab,BP;Brigadier Musa;Brigadear General Zahurul Haque,SBP;Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mustafizur Rahma,SBP,PSC;Lieutenant Colonel M.M. Imrul Hassan,SBP etc.

Bangladesh got it's independence in 1971 by a great liberation war.During the war Bangladesh Armed Force was divided in 11 sectors.

The eleven sectors

In every sector,there were some specialized teams.They were called commandos.There were some trained commando officers,they made some special operation's team.And these teams successfully lunched many conventional and unconventional small and big operations.Now all these operations is the part of the history.Under sector -1,2,9,11;there were most powerful commandos.That time they were known as 'Garilla Bahini' . Sector -9 was only for the commandos.And this sector lunched many Amphibious Warfare during the war of Liberation. Under sector -2,there was a great commando unit.It's name was "Crack Platoon".They lunched many times many danderous and risky operations on Pakistan Army in Dhaka during Liberation war. Sector -1's Commanding Officer and Sector -11's Commanding Officer,these two were two Leagent Commando Officer.They were Major General Ziaur Rahman and Colonel Abu Taher .They made many commando teams during the war of liberation.And they Lunched many successfull operations on Pakistan Army . Bangladesh started working in the UN MILITARY MISSIONS from 1988.Since then Bangladesh is sending special force in military missions.Bangladeshi special force's qualities and activities is so great, for that UN is asking Bangladesh to send more Members. Bangladesh is working in 12 country's 13 missions.[12]

Bangladesh Army Special Force Para-Commando started working in UN peacekeeping Missions in 1988.Scence then it has been working proudly to keep pece in the war like areas.Bangladesh is working 12 country's 13 missions. Now Bangladesh is the highest force sending country to the UN Peace Missions and it's recognized by All.Aglong with this Bangladssh is the highest Special Force sending country to the UN missions.[13]

Para-Commandos took part in the Gulf war from the side of Quet.They Directly took part in the military battles,conflicts.It was one of the most dangerous war and BD commandos took part with braveness and courage.At last when Iraq went away to their country leaving Quet,Bangladesh made a military treaty with Quet.Scence then Bangladesh Army is staying in Quet and helping their Army giving training and other works.There is also staying a team of Para-Commandos of Bangladesh.[14]

In Chittagong Hill tracts there ere some insurgents ,they were trying to make the hill unrest.For that reason,they made a terrorist group ,named Santi Bahini under two terrorist, Santu Larma and M. N. Larma. To make the hill peaceful for all Bangladesh Government requested Army to lunch an opperation. Para -Commando along with Bangladesh Army lunched an operation and made the hills peaceful for all. Bangladesh Government has done a treaty in 1997 with Hilly People.Since then the situation is quiet normal and now totally ok. [15]

Gulshan,Dhaka

On 1 July 2016, five militant attacked on a Bakery at Dhaka,Gulshan in Bangladesh. They made a Hostage situation .Police ,BGB and other civil forces were trying to talk with them .But this kind of hostage like situation was the first time in Bangladesh.For that reason they did not know what's going to be done.All on a sudden the the militants threw bomb and two police officers were killed.The situation was going out of control. Then,The prime minister of Bangladesh Called Army Para-Commandos . Para-Commandos came,the world saw,and Commandos Concord. They completed the operation in 12 minutes without any casualty from their side but killed all the militants,made the people free who were staying inside the bakery and made a history in the world .
