Fearless Girl is a bronze sculpture of a defiant girl by Kristen Visbal,[1] installed in Bowling Green, in Manhattan's Financial District, in the U.S. state of New York.[2] In 2017, State Street Global Advisors installed the statue across from Charging Bull, another bronze, on the eve of International Women's Day. Fearless Girl is meant to "send a message" about workplace gender diversity and encourage companies to recruit women to their boards.[3] The sculpture's installation is temporary; it is expected to stay in place at least several weeks.[4]
