Jim Beam
Jim Beam is a brand of bourbon whiskey, distilled in Clermont, Kentucky. Two types of Jim Beam, more commonly known as Beam, are available:
- White label
- Black label
The more expensive (usually around $20 per 700ml bottle) black label is soaked for longer in Beams traditional oak barrels, which are sold on eBay when no longer in use. In Australia, the alcohol content of Jim Beam is 37.0%, higher in other countries. Similar in taste to Jack Daniels, Jim Beam retails for a more affordable price, thus targeting the low income and teen markets. Proponents argue that Jim Beam is easier to drink than other spirits due to its pleasant taste and lack of noticible burn on the back of ones throat. Jim Beam is also known as JB, not to be confused with JD, and smells pleasantly like cinnamon. JB is aged in American oak barrels.
