Spelling of surname
Our entry was the only reference on the web which said the standard spelling of his surname is "Mück". This may well be the way it is spelt in German but everywhere else, including sources such as the BBC [1], galleries which have exhibited his work [2] and Mueck's own books [3] all spell it "Mueck". Also formerly the "Ron Mueck" page didn't even automatically redirect to "Ron Mück", it just had "Redirect --> Ron Mück" on it and the user had to click on the variant surname to go to the main article. I have kept the "Ron Mück" page but this now redirects automatically to this page, which copies exactly the entry previously stored under "Ron Mück". --Thoughtcat 08:55, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- You are quite right, 'Ron Mueck' is correct and this is where the article was created. Unfortunately it looks a little more complicated. The problem was caused by an incorrect page move on the 30th July. I'll need to do some work to unravel those edits and restore the page history. -- Solipsist 09:53, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
brooklynmuseum.org external link
This link: Brooklyn Museum Exhibition was added to the article by the site owner. In keeping with our guidelines could regular editors of this article check out the link and add it back if you think it appropriate. Thanks. -- Siobhan Hansa 00:09, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
"to produce small figure"
The sentence "In 1996 Mueck transitioned to fine art collaborating with his mother-in-law, Paula Rego, to produce small figure as part of a tableau she was showing at the Hayward Gallery." Needs to be corrected. I assume that this should be "small figures"; however, it is unclear whether "a small figure" was the intended text. --RealGrouchy 20:28, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
ron mueck's parents
ron mueck's parents were apparently toymakers in melbourne australia, is this relevant here?208.180.124.222 15:52, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, it's relevant. If a WP:RS can be found, this can be added to the article. Reify-tech (talk) 15:05, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Inconsistencies of creation dates
There is a good deal of internal inconsistency in the dates of creation of Mueck's works as given in this article.
I've added a number of works into the 'Selected Works' section, using the dates in the National Gallery book by Susanna Greaves and Colin Wiggins. Do the conflicting dates have authoritative references?

pictures
Can someone explain why pictures have been removed - I'm not following the discussion. They were pics taken in public of Muecks's work, published under a Creative Commons licence. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ThirteenthGreg (talk • contribs) 06:46, 30 March 2010 (UTC)
I don't know why the photo of "A Girl" was removed, but someone must have thought it a breach of copyright. I've replaced it with my own image which has a fair use justification. It seems pointless to have an article on any living artist if it is impossible to illustrate it! --Drgrigg (talk) 12:00, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
I've now swapped the photos of "In Bed" and "Mask II", since the latter seems a better introductory image for the article, given that it is in a way a 'self portrait'. --Drgrigg (talk) 11:15, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
