Cid in the first Final Fantasy

From the article : "Cid is not mentioned in the original North American localization of the game as released for the Nintendo Entertainment System. He is mentioned, however, in the subsequent re-releases"

Was Cid mentionned in the original japanese version and lost in the translation or was he added in the remakes only? This is unclear... -Ash_Crow 13:23, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think when the main charactors need airship or submarine somehow, the Japanese version said it's "Cid's ship/airship". I might be wrong. --Manop - TH 18:52, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Cid on FF6, seeing the japanese last name is Marukesu, that would be Márquez, which is a Spanish last name (like del Norte), while Marguez doesn't exist. So I think the correct name would be Cid del Norte Márquez.
