Francesco Guidolin

Please don't call me a vandal. All information I have inputted is fact and most of it is sourced or linked to sourced Wikipedia material. Guidolin's managerial statistics is based on www.soccerbase.com. But don't worry I shan't bother you again.

Darren Tilley

Hello sorry for not referencing my new edits, I just added statistics to Tilley's career based on the information found on this website www.soccerdatabase.eu. shotgun pete, talk. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shotgun pete (talkcontribs) 23:11, 3 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

Hi MTW

Thank you for you reversion of my edit, I wasn't sure if apps and goals were to be included, I take it from you reverting it, they are not, this will now enable me to make more appropriate edits

Thank You for your edit at Olivier Giroud, your input is crucial to helping build Wikipedia! Cheers :) TeaLover1996 (talk) 04:51,

Hi Mattythewhite I'm new to editing wikipedia articles and all I really wanted to do was change the picture used in the article. I have found a few other pictures that would be more accurate for this footballer Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shivgattu1202 (talkcontribs) 16:11, 24 July 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

Carl Pentney

Hi! Thank you for keeping an eye on the statistics and my edits. The Carl Pentney stats are retrieved from the match reports at Maidenhead United's Pitch Hero website, apart from the Bath City match on 18 August 2015, which was covered by Bath Chronicle.

Roy Carroll edit

Hi. I am only a very occasional contributor and have no idea how this process works. You removed my edit saying there was "no reliable source". I'm not sure why you think a source is necessary ; the season statistics speak for themselves, and are available for all to see on the 2007-8 season page for Derby - 14 games after Carroll began playing, during which he let in 38 goals, and the club set a new Premiership record for the lowest ever points total. If you need a cross-reference as a "reliable source" it would be this Wiki page : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007%E2%80%9308_Derby_County_F.C._season . I don't know how to use that in a way which is acceptable to you. BOB

Hi Matty - I was reverting a previous change that had removed a couple of words from an already cited quote that meant the quote was no longer accurate annd made no sense. The addition was part of the article cited for the entire sentence and as such would be covered by that citation. I'd normally have changed this under my own username (User:AndrewMcQ) but I've mislaid my password after a longish absence from editting. Would you revert or should I?

Andrew

I've added a link to prove that the club have turned full time and highlighted quote from that article from the chairman below:

"Hunter went on “Going to a day time training programme three days a week, is tantamount to turning Meadow Park and Boreham Wood into a full time football club for the first time in our history.."

Response

Hello, you sent me a message yesterday regarding putting capital letters on common nouns and having the same link in the info boxes. I'd just like to offer an explanation and if it satisfies you then great and if not then i'll listen to your advice. Regarding the capital letters, I have only been doing this in info boxes because the word promoted or relegated is in brackets and is not in a sentence. If it were I would not be putting a capital letter at the beginning of the words. I also think the info box looks more visually aesthetic with capital lettered words, otherwise i find the word (promoted or relegated) looks out of place as generally every other word in the info box has a capital letter. Secondly, regarding having the same link, I have only been doing this because clubs that are promoted and relegated obviously change league and thus the league and last season league link are different. In these cases there are two links. The problem I have is there is then a lack of consistency with clubs that stay in the same league as they only have one link, because as you say duplication is occurring. Thus personally I think it is better to have two links on all, rather than one link on some and two on other or one link on all and then having some league links you can't access.

Kind regards

Davide Petrucci

I put an external link to prove his height, his soccerway profile. (Rhinen)

Please, the details that I added were in the source listed. Press Ctrl+F and search for "penalty" and "fifth". As you reverted in the same minute I made the addition, I highly doubt you even checked to verify the additions. Being a registered user or admin does not give you any superiority over IPs to revert at whim.

Nolito edit.

Nolito has so far in his Manchester City career managed six goals for the club, so why isn't it notable to mention the one game where he scored two of those? Besides, his page doesn't really seem to be that updated, which is unfortunate. Sillesen (talk) 17:31, 26 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you made a change to an article, FC Bayern Munich, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so!"

I'm not sure what comment you're referring to. The only changes I made were all common knowledge facts regarding Bayern's historic performances in the competition, that were easily cited by the main source of all the information that was already contained in the existing citations.

However, even more interesting is that none of the other information in that section has a citation at all whatsoever. So, clearly it seems your motivation to remove my comment comes from somewhere else.

But, if you want, you can even look at wikipedia's own source of basic facts on that very competition (which also happens to not be cited).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_Cup_and_UEFA_Champions_League_finals

In the future, you may want to realize citations are only for things which aren't widely recognized & easily documented common knowledge facts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 146.243.82.229 (talk) 00:16, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

List of European Cup and UEFA Champions League finals doesn't have any citations? Think you might wanna double check that. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:22, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Matty, what's your intake on this please?

I know, you are a "fan" of leagues being written in intro, but this user also: 1 - needless creates a redirect ("AS Monaco" instead of the correct "AS Monaco FC"); 2 - blanks their page whenever they receive a message, so I feel they don't want to interact "all that much" and thus I will not be bothered to do so.

We are both quite close of breaching the 3RR. If you feel I am in the wrong, notify me and I will stop of course. Attentively --193.137.135.2 (talk) 09:14, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't really matter if a redirect is used, as long as it heads to the right place. What's more important is the club name that is displayed, and wouldn't just Monaco be correct here? Mattythewhite (talk) 13:00, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see, X2. But isn't the other user displaying a great level of despise for simple/basic interaction? Whatever it is, next time he reverts me (he will!) I leave it be. --193.137.135.2 (talk) 13:49, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Rafael Gaúcho, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:53, 27 March 2017 (UTC) Hi, Mattythewhite. The change in the article was made in players infobox where no references are cited previous. But there is external link section below http://de.soccerway.com/players/rafael-pompeo-rodrigues-ledesma/27423/ where all actual information about the player is updated. The only thing I did - information update using info from existing link in the players page. But no big deal here - it could stay as it was before if this is the rule.Hunter242 (talk) 10:26, 28 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop saying I don't have a reliable source

I clearly have a reliable source. You probably didn't even go to the website and check. I only have one thing. Cheryshev did score a goal for Real Madrid and I want it to be in the appearances and goals. It even shows that he scored a goal for Real Madrid against Cadiz. You have made so much mistakes. You clearly don't know nothing about soccer/football. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TimTishchenko (talkcontribs) 01:06, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You clearly don't know anything (not nothing, that's a double negative) about what is supposed to go in the infobox. I have explained to you *multiple* times on your talk page that *league* statistics only are included. Mattythewhite (talk) 01:12, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Although it was a league goal, he still scored for Real Madrid. Which it doesn't say in there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by TimTishchenko (talkcontribs) 21:47, 31 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ffs im done ya happy?

So you ban me for 2 weeks for doing right but accidentally putting the reference with another because i was scared if i took the other away you would ban me (im not the best at refs -Eric Dier-) every time i try doing good ive stopped people trolling, doing bad edits ive always been helpful but you there every time waiting 10 years you've wasted of your life on wiki not helping good people but stopping them well you have your wish im not gonna edit anything about football again well done for not helping the good side of the community.. Edit- This not hate or "harassment" im simply saying well done and goodbye.

If you're not willing to adhere to the community's policies there are bound to be consequences. How can you not see that? Mattythewhite (talk) 14:15, 3 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox stats editing

Hi, I see an IP (168.181.182.54) has been enthusiastically editing infobox stats totals upwards, i presume this is for all games rather than league totals although they never cite a source. I have a feeling this is the same user as 179.106.3.250 who did the same thing last week. A shame they are putting so much effort into the wrong infomation! Shall I just go ahead and revert 168.181.182.54's edits, or would you like to take a look first (you already reverted Ruud Gullit)? Thanks. PS while trying to check Cafu's totals I spotted his career stats box is a bit messed up (the Palmeiras bit below Zaragoza), I'm not very good with the formatting of those tables (tried and failed!) so if you have a chance could you possibly fix it? Crowsus (talk) 10:54, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty sure the figures are entirely made up. They've been using a few different addresses, think I've reverted them all now. I'll take a look at Cafu and see if I can fix the table. Mattythewhite (talk) 13:01, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you reverted all my recent edits?

All I was doing was adding the 2017 EFL trophy win to players profiles. Not sure why it has been removed.- skybluecm

As I explained on your talk page, the content is unsourced. Mattythewhite (talk) 18:46, 5 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I thought it was self explanatory. I linked to the efl trophy final '17 on all of them which acts as a reference? If not I will re add them.

No flags beside teams

Hello, Recently I added flags next to certain football teams that were in the emirates cup in 2007 and 2008 and you promptly removed them. I had said that flags were always added next to teams and you responded with "Since when". Please refer to any page on the Champions/Europa League from any season or even look at the 2009-2015 Emirates Cup pages and you will remark that there are flags beside each team. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.98.86.129 (talk) 04:43, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed them before, they breach copyright, I've left a note on the talk page, maybe you can find a decent one for the infobox that's more.. reputable, cheers, Govvy (talk) 21:44, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I have restored the image used previously. If it is correct that the removed image does breach copyright, could you nominate it for deletion at Wikimedia Commons? Mattythewhite (talk) 21:49, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Already have nominated it for deletion, two previous images of the same image were deleted before, they were both uploaded by the same username I think. Govvy (talk) 22:11, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unia Emery

The information I put in to his early managerial achievements was cited by the links already put in. I'm getting rather annoyed with the Wikipedia police. I'm not a vandal and only add information which is accurate.

It was cited by what links already put in? I couldn't see citations *alongside* the content you added. Mattythewhite (talk) 12:28, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Matty. I'm involved in a bit of an edit war with User:Efc1878 over something simple as timestamps. What can be done about this user who appears not to be able to grasp the concept of correct timestamps? Do I keep reverting them or report them? Mórtas is Dóchas (talk) 20:20, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, it's really not worth engaging in an edit war over this. I'd bring it up for discussion. Mattythewhite (talk) 20:26, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Can you point me towards where I'd be able to discuss this? Thanks. Mórtas is Dóchas (talk) 20:30, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You could try leaving a message on their talk page, or start a thread at WT:FOOTY? Mattythewhite (talk) 20:32, 9 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a good few messages on their talk page already explaining about timestamps and he (guessing it's a male) has been adding the correct timestamps over the last few days. However, he has reverted me when I tried changing the international timestamps which were incorrect. I'll bring it up at WT:FOOTY I suppose. I still haven't joined the project yet, must do that now!
