Red vs. Blue: Reconstruction is the sixth season of the action comedy-drama science fiction machinima web series Red vs. Blue, produced by Rooster Teeth Productions and distributed via the Rooster Teeth website. Red vs Blue: Reconstruction is set over a year after The Blood Gulch Chronicles and picks up where the Red vs. Blue: Recovery One miniseries left off. The credits for the trailer state that Reconstruction stars several voices from the original Blood Gulch Chronicles, as well as Recovery One voice actor Shannon McCormick.[1] On May 26, Rooster Teeth released Chapter One of Reconstruction.[2] The season begins an era of Red vs. Blue known as The Recollection Trilogy which refers to the sixth, seventh, and eight season of the series. The season concluded on October 30, 2008 with the 19th chapter.[3] It was followed up by the Relocated mini-series, and then by the seventh season entitled Red vs. Blue: Recreation.
Reconstruction retcons many of the major plot points from the Blood Gulch Chronicles, such as the Freelancers and the civil war, making the series into more of a dramedy than the parody that was.
Synopsis
Reconstruction is set over a year after the events of Red vs. Blue: The Blood Gulch Chronicles and picks up after the events of Recovery One. The main protagonist is a soldier named Agent Washington, a Recovery agent for Project Freelancer. The season follows him as he investigates an attack on an outpost by a mysterious entity known only as the "Meta", which has also been killing members of Project Freelancer and stealing their partner AIs and their armor upgrades. While pursuing the Meta and soon joined by the Reds and Blues, Washington will uncover a conspiracy and dark secrets about the true purpose of Project Freelancer. Each episode begins with a memo from a series of increasingly tense responses between the Director of Project Freelancer and the Chairman of the Oversight Sub-Committee of the UNSC.
Trailer

A trailer for the series portrays two agents, Recovery Six and Recovery Nine, investigating an incident at military outpost 17-B Valhalla which had resulted in the annihilation of the forces stationed there. The agents find a cryptic message in one of the bases that reads "We are the Meta," and are later attacked and killed by an unseen or invisible foe while investigating a crashed ship. When the agents die, their recovery beacons are activated. Over the course of the video a memo is read by the Director of Project Freelancer that addresses the concerns of the Chairman of the Oversight Sub-Committee about Project Freelancer and the incident at the outpost.
