Karin Lowachee is a Canadian author of science fiction. She was born in Guyana; her family moved to Canada when she was two years old. She currently lives in the western suburbs of Toronto.

Lowachee is the author of three novels, Warchild, Burndive, and Cagebird. The protagonist of her novels, Jos Musey, was captured by space pirates as a child, and then later found herself in the care of an alien race, the striviirc-na, who are engaged in a war with humanity. Warchild is noteworthy for its use of second-person point of view for the first several chapters of the novel. This book won the Warner Aspect First Novel Award.
