Myanmar Institute of Information Technology (Template:Lang-my; abbreviated MIIT) is a technological institute located in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay, Myanmar. It was set up by the Ministry of Education (Myanmar), Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as a National Center of Excellence in computer science and allied areas. The Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India is providing developmental assistance to build and operate MIIT for a period of 5 years through mentoring by International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.[1]
Location
The university is located at the corner of the 73rd Street and Ngu Shwe Wah Street. It is close to theMandalarthiri Stadium and east of the Mandalay Chanmyathazi Airport.
Degree Programs
Salient Features of the B.E. (Hons) Degree Programs
- The B.E. (Hons.) programs in Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering are designed to follow a curriculum based on international standards and conforming to the recommendations of International bodies, such as IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers) and ACM (Association for Computing Machinery). These honours degree programs have more credit hours to be completed over the period of 5 years than a similar non-honours degree program.
