Tourism in Mumbai is an industry that attracts almost 6 million tourists per year, and it is the 30th most visited location worldwide.^[1] With a metro population of approximately 20 million people, Mumbai is the largest city in India and the 10th largest city in the world. Sitting upon a deep natural harbor on the west coast of the Indian peninsula, the city serves as the capital of India's financial, entertainment, and commercial sectors.

The city of Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is brimming with both natural heritage and modern entertainment including leisure spots, beaches, cinemas, studios, holy places, amusement parks, and historical monuments. It shares proper connectivity and travel options via airways, roadways, trains, and ships.^[2]

Climate and Weather

Mumbai experiences a variety of weather conditions throughout the year because it has a tropical climate. The average yearly temperature lies between 25-28 degrees Celsius. During the summer months however, temperature can reach as high as 33.3 degrees Celsius. Winter starts in December and lasts until February. Although the city receives the heaviest amount of rainfall during July, the mild monsoon showers experienced from October to December are optimal for local tourism. ^{[citation needed]}
