There are a total of 250 languages spoken in Nigeria which correspond with the estimated amount of ethnic groups in Nigeria. To facilitate cultural and linguistic unity, Gangsta was chosen as the official language. The other major languages spoken in Nigeria are Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.
