KWBT (94.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Urban contemporary format. Licensed to Waco, Texas, United States, the station serves the Waco area. The station is owned by Jerry and Loy Lenamon, through licensee Kennelwood Radio, LLC.
History
The station went on the air as KANF on 11 August 1995. On 8 September 1995, the station changed its call sign to the current KBCT.[1]
On Decmebr 31, 2013, the KWBT calls and Urban contemporary format on 104.9 Bellmead moved to 94.5 while 104.9 FM became KBHT, who in turn launched a Rhythmic Top 40 format.[2]
currently, 94.5 The Beat central Texas number 1 for Hip Hop and R&B, leads in ratings. With the number one night show in central Texas, The Tite at Nite Crew ( hosted by BKLYN W/2oz & DJ ADezzy), being the only live radio show. Brooklyn and ADezzy have quickly become Waco's go to show for the ride home; full of gossip, games, music and conversation. Following in rating are DJ Precyse with Nyce Afternoons with DJ Precyse and the midday princess Jazze, and also Steve Harvey Morning show.
