Meryame Kitir (born in Maasmechelen, 20 April 1980), is a Belgian politician and member of the Flemish social-democratic party sp.a. She has been a member of the Belgian Chamber of Representatives since June 2007. Since 2015, she is the leader for her party in this parliament.[1] She is known for her fiery way of addressing issues, commonly having to do with the specific problems the vast labour force of the province she represents, Limburg, has to deal with.[2][3]
