Doggyworld.jpg (300 × 300 pixels, file size: 24 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
This non-free media file should be replaced with a smaller version to comply with Wikipedia's non-free content policy and United States copyright law. According to Wikipedia's policy for non-free content, the amount of copyrighted work used under fair use should be as little as possible. In particular, non-free media on Wikipedia should not be usable as substitutes for the original work. A high-resolution non-free image is questionable fair use and may be deleted per Wikipedia's copyright policy.
In most cases, this reduction will occur automatically: simply wait a while and a bot will resize the image file according to the guideline at WP:IMAGERES. When an automatic reduction does not occur or a manual reduction is desired, the size of an image may be reduced in an image editing program or by saving and re-uploading a suitably sized thumbnail. Once a reduced version of this file has been uploaded: Please replace this template with {{subst:orphaned non-free revisions}} (through source edit) or {{orphaned non-free revisions|date=22 December 2024}} (through VisualEditor or Twinkle). |
Rationale of fair use for Doggy Dogg World
The image Image:Doggyworld.jpg is being linked here; though the picture is originally copyright, I (Lajbi Holla @ meWho's the boss?) feel it is covered by fair use because:
- The image is a cover for the single "Doggy Dogg World" created by Death Row Records, and intended for wide distribution.
- The cover is of lower resolution and quality than the original CD (copies made from it will be of inferior quality).
- No free or public domain images have been located for this single.
- The cover does not limit the copyright owners' rights to distribute the single or in any way.
- The cover is intended to represent the "Doggy Dogg World" single.
- The cover is being used for informational purposes only, and its use is not believed to detract from the original single in any way.
- The material has previously been published in numerous sources, with higher resolution images available elsewhere (Amazon.com, for example).
Licensing
This image is of a cover of an audio recording, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher of the work or the artist(s) which produced the recording or cover artwork in question. It is believed that the use of low-resolution images of such covers
qualifies as fair use under the copyright law of the United States. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. | |||
